What I Learned: At the beginning of the year I honestly didn't know what to think about this class. I thought that we weren't really going to learn anything, and that we would just go out and take pictures. Oh, how I was wrong. In this class we not only took a bunch of pictures and played with photoshop, but we actually learned the proper technique that come with that. Some of the techniques I learned were; lighting, shutter, aperture, and levels. I think that these were some of the really key point of taking pictures, and even though I don't want to be a photographer when I get older, this class could really help me with any photos I want to take for fun. What Was Difficult: The thing I really didn't like about this class, is that we dandy havre enough time. I think that some of the things that we id felt a little rushed, and I think that we should do less photo assignments, but have more time to do them, so we can actually Photo Assignments: For these assignments we had to take 50-100 pictures of a certain topic each week for 7 weeks. Personally this was my least favorite part of this class, because of time constraints. Every weekend I had more than one soccer game and they were about an hour away, so it pretty much took my whole day, so I hardly had any time to take pictures of things, and some of my photos could have turned out much better than they did. I really wish that I had more time to take picture, because I really do love using my car, I just ran out of time. Below here are some examples of what I did for Photo Assignments. I decided to put in my best photo from all 7 photo assignments as my examples. Photoshop: I think my favorite part of this class was getting to do all of the photoshop work. I really liked getting to design and manipulate photos that I had taken, to create some of my best work. The only really difficult part about photoshop was that it was sometimes hard to understand the point that the directions were giving you. Other than that, I really liked photoshop, and hope I can use it again sometime in the future. Photo Assignment Examples: Photoshop Examples:

For this assignment we had to think of three visual puns and create them with images. I picked these three, because I think that they are not only challenging, but are full of emotion and color as well. For the dictionary, we had to find two words that are not commonly known, and show their definition using pictures and words. The hardest part of this assignment was trying to pick what puns and what words I was going to use. Although it was a bt challenging, I think that in the end it turned out fine.
For this assignment we had to take 50-100 pictures of a certain subject. I decided to take architecture. I took these pictures with my camera, and I really liked all the different shapes in the buildings and how all the intricate designs in the buildings. The hardest part of this assignment was trying to get good lighting and also trying to take pictures without a bunch of people getting in the way. Even though there are some people in my photos, I didn't want to crop them out, because I think it just adds to the photo.
Shutter: Auto Aperture: Auto ISO: Auto For this photoshop assignment we got to play around with photoshop. We had to do both the POC and the Polaroid, and then we had to choose one more. For POC I had a photo of a flower, and I really liked the color of it, so I blacked out the background and made the flower the POC. For Polaroid I choose a photo from when I went to Lollapalooza. I choose this photo, because I really like how there are so many people, how the stage is there, and how you can see the city in the background. I choose to do Water effect for my last one because I really like how you can turn any photo into a reflection. I also thought that the effect of the ripples was really cool to learn. The hardest part of all of this was trying to get all of the numbers on the pages right. Other than that, I thought that all of these were pretty easy.
For this assignment we had to take 50-100 pictures of a certain subject. I decided to take food this week. My whole family is Italian, so we love food. I have been cooking with my grandma since I was 2, and now I love it. As well as making food, I absolutely love eating it. I love trying new things and going out of my comfort zone. The hardest part of this assignment was trying to get the lighting right. The lighting in the restaurants weren't always the best, but I had to make do. I picked the first photo as my best picture, because I really like all the colors and how creative the presentation was.
Shutter: Auto Aperture: Auto ISO: Auto For this assignment we had to take 50-100 pictures of a certain subject. I decided to take nature this week. My grandparents love to garden, so I decided to go take some pictures of their flowers. Also because it rained this weekend, I decided to take some photos of flowers with rain on them. We had to pick our best photo, and show it before and after photoshop. I choose this photo, because I like the bright color of the flower, and the raindrops on the petals. Shutter: Auto Aperture: Auto ISO: Auto For this assignment we had to take multiple pictures of the same area with a person in it. The area had to stay the same, but the person would move to a different spot each time. We needed to take at least 6 photos. 1 with just the background, and 5 with the person in them. The hardest part in the assignment was trying not to overlap the people, because if you did, you would have to start again. Wr got to use the last tool in photoshop, and I found it very useful.
For this assignment we had to take 50-100 pictures of a certain subject. I decided to take landscape this week. Wr get really pretty sun sets at my house, so I thought for my landscape, I would do some of those. We had to pick our best photo, and show it before and after photoshop. I choose this photo, because I like the sunset, and the contrast between the dark houses and the bright sky. In photoshop I cropped and re adjusted the brightness on the photo.
Shutter: Auto Aperture: Auto ISO: Auto For this assignment we had to take a picture of somewhere in the school, and transform it. I noticed that we had an alcove full of windows, so I decided to take a picture of that. I knew that I wanted to change the background outside of the windows, but I didn't know what to. I was looking at inspiration on google, and say a really pretty storm sky, so I decided to use that. It was very challenging to try to keep the window panes as well as change the background. It eded up taking me about 50 minutes to only do the windows. After that, I decided it was too plain, so I added in a tree. I wanted one that would stand out against he dark sky, so I choose one with some color. For our assignment criteria, we had to add in a shadow, so I decided that the tree would have the shadow. Just as an added touch of magical looking "spice" I added in a unicorn to draw your eye to more than just the tree and clouds.
For this assignment we had to take multiple photos and use photo merge to put them together. This was one of the hardest assignments, in my opinion, because if you didn't properly overlap your photos, then they wouldn't work. Other than that, I thought this assignment was really cool.
